Pretty much. My wife and I have recognized the concept of "cat time," which is illustrated by what happens when an animal wants out or in. Open the door and a dog will immediately recognize his opportunity and bolt out. In contrast, a cat must consider the situation, usually while grooming their fur. Then, they'll stroll to the threshold and stop, carefully and skittishly scanning for danger. Could take ten minutes before they exit, and in the absence of a helpful human nudge, because, hey, it's cat time.
