Looks useful in the ice and snow

FYI, there are cheaper versions of this, but they don't look, to my eyes, as robust and stabile as these.

  1. They absolutely will save your ass from a bruising.

  2. Mine, that brand, are ten years old and still give good service. Do take them off before going inside on any hard floor or you will bust your ass!

  3. Yaktrax are awesome. Don't go out into the ice without them.

  4. What you have to be careful about are smooth terrazzo floors, like the floors in the building where I work. They’re great on ice and snow, slicker than cat poop on linoleum if you wear them on terrazzo on your way to your office. Don’t ask me how I know.

  5. Ditto, great on snow/ice; ditto, you'll go ass over teakettle on hard floors inside. Mine are ~10 years old & don't have the instep strap -- but it looks like a decent idea & I think I may need to dig up some basic Velcro(R) straps & jury rig something.... :-)

  6. These are the ones we have. Don't have the strap, but they hold on just fine for normal walking around. $17 and Prime.
