It is the very first XF-102 which first flew on Oct 24, 1953 and was written off after a forced landing on Nov 2. Richard Johnson was seriously injured. The second XF-102 looks much different including a totally changed windshield and canopy.
Even so, that is just a beautiful airplane. As dangerous as it was, I'd consider it an honor to fly such a machine.
