The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The story is told that, in OEF, Buffs' standard loadout was (12) 2000 lb JDAMS on the wings and 3 clip in racks internally. Each clip capable of holding 9 M117 (750 lbs'ers). Usually though, the last rack instead of M117s, had bullshit bombs. It was rumored that there was a shortage of toilet paper in country and Uncle Sam was glad to oblige.
Very different philosophies in bomber design. The B-52 survived and the Vulcan didn't.
