Oh, Saturday!

Heading up to Minden, Nevada today with Mrs. CW so she can go to a knitting class, and I can see about the condition of the aspens over Carson Pass.

Later, while the better half studies, I plan to zip up to Boomtown and stroll through Cabela's.  Maybe I can find something to buy that's illegal in California!  I love to do that.  Five miles across the border and there's freedom from the progressive goons that rule this sadly deluded state.

In any event, I'm looking forward to a matchless drive, fun with the wife, and perhaps an ammo stockup using my free points.  I'll try and take some photos of the fun and post them later.

  1. Bully! Allow me to hold your coat while you shop. Yeah, ammo before the looming deadline. Maybe check out some glass for the Swede. At least you can still chase something down online later (for now). Some photos would be great. Here in Texas, I do miss the high country.

    1. They're having an air show there today, and when I went past the airport people were lining up along 395 on their tailgates to watch. I was out at about 2:30, Blue Angels were set to start at three.

  6. Don't plan on getting a bump stock- they're sold out everywhere.

Although I have no use for such a device (you can bump fire without all that paraphenalia) I feel like buying one now myself, just to say "Screw you!" to Dianne Feinstein (who I got an email from today.)

    1. Naw, I actually didn't even know what those were until they started talking about making them forbidden. I'm more of a revolver and single shot man. Lever actions too. The state has nothing to worry about.

But, my goodness what a spread at the gun counter at Cabela's! It's like back in the days of the Soviet Union, and their supermarkets had five things total to buy (California) while in the US, the was ten of everything (Nevada). You can sure tell which state is the one plummeting into totalitarianism.

  7. CW, did you mean the Thunderbirds are at Minden, I'm fairly sure the NAVY Blue Angels are in the bay area for fleet week.
