And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Same thing happenedmto me while I was riding my bicycle a couple years ago. Came around a corner at a good clip, and there was a big black racer about halfway across the road. So I aimed to go behind it, but when it saw me he freaked and turned around, just in time to go partway thru my front wheel. He made about two revolutions before getting shot out the other side into the grass. Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how to not get bitten, and like the gent above, had both feet off the pedals up in the air, hoping like hell he didn't get thrown into me! Was a bit exciting!
The biker should have aimed for the snake. That's what a little common courtesy gets you.
