And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Looks like "slick-rock" country. I was horse-packing quite a number of years ago up the Hells Mountain Trail, going into the Immigrant Wilderness area in country like that. Found a spot where a number of 4WD vehicles had joined the trail, tearing stuff up. As I was discussing their heritage, and sexual persuasions with my horse, I noticed a pretty good sized rock in the trail jutting up a couple of feet into a very nice point. Huge puddle of oil draped the rock. Ecologically unsound to be sure, but that chuckle lasted me a couple of miles.
