Only the Scots

The Punishment Stone  on Canna, the westernmost of the Small Isles archipelago, in the Scottish Inner Hebrides – Legend has it that any miscreants would have their thumb wedged into the hole in the stone until they had learned their lesson and managed to extricate it, or the thumb fell off!

  1. Haven't been there but I've strode around the "Standing Stones of Callanish on several occasions. They're located in the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. Fantastic site on a crisp, clear September morning.
