  2. Laphroaig is the only option in the Highlands.

  3. Laphroaig is distilled in Islay, off the west coast of Scotland and a long way from the Highlands. It is very much an acquired taste,very "peaty", something like distilled cigarette butts.

    1. That's an apt description, Melody, but part of the fun is being able to drink it with a stiff upper lip. Oban, much smoother.

  4. Bunnahabhain 12 year old is the least peaty of the Islays, yet very palatable. One of my favorites!
