  1. The heavy parrot rifles did that far more often than is remembered today. You can find large fragments of one outside the walls of Ft. Morgan Alabama that ruptured at the breach end of the gun years before the start CW. The culprit was in the casting of the Iron. They simply had no way to inspect for flaws. ---Ray

      Proof marks showed that the gun fired by the actual, proof.
