    2. Wikipedia is your friend. :-P I actually looked these bikes up a while back, they're called "penny-farthings" and they preceeded the modern bicycle. Oh...knights never needed cranes to mount their horses; it's a (frustratingly) common but entirely mythical legend. Google it, if you dont believe me, lol.   3. Look up "Pennyfarthing" on youtube. Plenty of videos of how to ride one of these things... if you dare to try.
