12.8 cm FlaK 40 Zwilling mount on the Flakturm Tiergarten - Berlin, 1945


These impressive guns also proved to be useful against the heaviest of Soviet tanks during the Battle of Berlin.

  2. I remember seeing the Falkturn Wien when I was in Vienna. Those things are stupefying in person. It literally stopped me in my tracks.

  3. The concrete was so heavily reinforced, that it proved easier to bury them rather than blow them up, at least in Berlin.
