And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Disneyland, 1965
About the only thing that's still there from this picture is the Matterhorn, which you can barely see in the background
I visited Disneyland in 1972 when I came back from Viet Nam, and was stationed at Hunter Liggett Military Reservation (which today is Fort Hunter Liggett) assigned to the Combat Developments Experimentation Command.
I loved Disneyland!
I stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, rode the Monorail, and visited everything, i.e., Country Bears Jamboree, Pirates of the Caribbean, Main Street USA, Frontier Land, Tomorrow Land, and the Adventure Land Safari.
I don't remember if I went into the Cinderella Castle and the It's A Small World After All.
I don't remember if I saw any of the Walt Disney cartoon characters out walking around.
There certainly have been big changes. I loved the old submarine ride.
