Акула - Russian for one big ass sub.

The Project 941 or Akula, Russian "Акула" ("Shark") class submarine (NATO reporting nameTyphoon) is a type of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine deployed by the Soviet Navy in the 1980s. With a submerged displacement of 48,000 tonnes, the Typhoons are the largest class of submarine ever built, large enough to accommodate decent living facilities for the crew when submerged for months on end.

  1. They sail it out under the arctic ice (which may not exist soon if global warming takes hold), blow the ballast tanks and it nudges up against the ice above it, which makes them very difficult to locate. They are also very difficult to kill because there are several separate hulls within the pressure hull. The crew hangs out until the tour is over and then the sub sails back and the crew rotates. It's a mobile missile platform.

  2. Akula is different from the Typhoon, it is a fast attack and comes looking for our subs.
