I-80 westbound is currently closed at Castle Peak due to ice, and multiple spinouts.

It's an unusually lonely road in a winter storm.

  1. Chains would manage it easily. Why close it?

    1. Hey, it's the CHP. Safety first. By the way, my wife is traveling that stretch tomorrow. The weather better clear up by Monday afternoon or I'll be driving her over the hill again.

  2. They close I-80 when it gets icy because there are too many Knuckleheads on the road who think they know how to drive on a slick road. OK, rant over. :)
