First class air travel in the twenties.

  1. I think that they offered a meal back then. Actually all over Asia, they still do - with every flight. In the US you're lucky to get a soft drink and peanuts.

  2. The man in the photo wasn't called a flight attendant. They were called pursers then. My father was a purser at Eastern Airlines in the 30's and briefly after the war.

    1. The chief flight attendant on US airlines presently is still referred to as the purser.
