State of Jefferson?

This could work, but still the vast majority of the population would live in the bottom row of counties.
I'd bet, though, that with the proper, business friendly, tax and regulation, you could grow quite an economy in ten years.

  1. There has been a lot of talk of this over the years. California needs to be broken up into three or four pieces, but the government doesn't want it because it breaks up the monopoly.

  3. You'd need to deep-six the wine country, for a start. Sonoma County in particular was once characterized by no less than The Congressional Record as "the leftmost county in America."

    1. And I'd have fun watching them get thin. I'm tired of the slackers, the stupid and the rent seekers. Unless you have a legit excuse, you'd better be pulling your own weight in the State of Jefferson.
