U.S. Senator John C. Calhoun in 1849.


If anyone was going to rise up out of the grave and haunt the world, this guy would be the one.

  1. Good lord. 1849 is the same year Edgar Allan Poe died. I think now I see where he got his inspired horror from.

  2. My wife is descended from that Calhoun. I've gotten that exact stare many times, now I know where it comes from. An entire family devoted to destroying all fun. Sigh.
