Spent the day in the mountains

And I took three yutes with me to help burn off some ammo.

The roads were relatively crowded on this nice June day, but as soon as we got off the paved road up at Monitor Pass, there was nobody. We had the forest all to ourselves.

Where we shoot has a small forest of ghost trees on one side.

The old 870 was popular with the young'uns.

Leviathan Peak in the background.

The Ruger Single Nine got a good workout.  It's one of the best gun buys I've ever made.

Exhausted by the sun, the dust and burning powder, two of the guys relax.

Slinkard Valley, still green this late in the spring.  Frankly, flowers were everywhere, and it was like driving and walking in a garden all day.

After the fun off road and with firearms, we all drove in to Minden and ate hearty at JT's Basque Restaurant.   Then, back over the hill to home.  Everyone is sporting a nice farmer style sunburn. A great day indeed.
