And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Those men are from the 90th Bomb Group, the Jolly Rogers. The web has loads of information on that group and its Pacific history. A most interesting book on one plane lost over PNG is "Ten Knights In A Bar Room." They went missing during fighter attacks after a raid and weren't found until 1970. They were found only because of Michael Cundiff's personal efforts.
