California state government leads by example once again

"The watering of hillsides along the 101 Freeway and Barham Boulevard in Universal City comes at a time when Californians have been deluged with pleas to save water during the historic drought. It also comes at a time when freeway message boards warn motorists of the drought, stating “Severe Drought. Limit Outdoor Watering.”
Of course, they have a reason for watering in the rain:
“There are a number of reasons why we have to water our vegetation in Los Angeles, a lot of places where the vegetation actually provides erosion control,” Patrick Chandler, a spokesperson of Caltrans, told KCAL9’s Dave Bryan. “We have to have erosion control there or the vegetation to hold them in place.”
Shouldn't they suffer a fine, like the rest of us plebs would if caught by the water police wasting that precious resource?  Why, of course not!
Plus, if you go to the article, you can see they are using inefficient sprinklers, instead of the favored drip irrigation, so they are doubly wrong.
I'm going out now to let my hose run in the gutter.

  1. No no, don't do that or my sister-in-law will come by and slice your hose, kill your cat, throw a brick through the window and pitch a hissy fit......oh, hold on. That was the last drought, now all Californian women are like that. DEAD Man Walking.

    1. I'm on a well, so I'm my own water company. As long as it doesn't go dry, I'm golden!
