Your good news of the day: Swiss hostage of moslem guerillas escapes by cutting the throat of his guard with a machete.

"A Swiss wildlife photographer who was held hostage by Islamic extremists for more than two years has dramatically escaped to his freedom by cutting his captor's throat with a machete.

Hostage Lorenzo Vinciguerra bravely fled from his kidnappers during a clash between insurgents and governments troops in the southern Philippines."

Unless my knowledge of Latin and latin based languages is in error, I think Mr. Vinciguerra's last name is perfect.  Does it not mean something like "Victor in War?"

I hope he took the machete with him, at the very least as a souvenir.  Danny Trejo, eat your heart out!

  1. I thought that he'd walk out holding the head by the hair. Turn-about is fair play.
