Michelle Obama was exhorting black voters to get out and vote today. Not missing any chance to ring a stereotype for a vote, she said this:
"I give everyone full permission to eat some fried chicken after they vote… but I think that a victory for Democrats on Tuesday, you know, should be rewarded with some fried chicken."
It's needless to say that no Republican would be allowed to say this without severe political consequences. Mrs O? No problem, it's perfectly alright to pander in the lowest, most overt and insulting way.

Meanwhile, her husband says he is going to flood the country with illegal aliens after the vote today, in opposition to clear law passed by congress, by using an executive order.
First, that tool does not allow him to unilaterally declare law in clear violation of a duly passed law from congress. He's stupidly going to stumble into a constitutional crisis here.
From the perspective of the country's African American population, however, how are they to see the importation of millions of illegal workers, who will clearly be competing with them for the same jobs? At some point one would expect the majority of them to realize that they are being marginalized by this act of "their" president, into a permanent, unemployable underclass, doomed to live off the charity and labor of others, and with no chance of moving on up the ladder of success. Meanwhile, the new blacks - our illegal alien voting block - will quickly become middle class and successful.
When did the African Americans vote for that? This is a big risk for the Democrats. They could easily alienate one of their staunchest and least demanding voting blocks. Already, increasing numbers of blacks are seeing the light and publicly moving away from their plantation. That trickle could turn into a flood.
When that happens, the African Americans could look back to the condescending language of people like Mrs. Obama, and wonder to themselves why it took them so long to come to their senses.
Would it be racist if I ate fried chicken and collards today, in honor of the black vote...in a show of solidarity. Naturally I'd wash it down with a 44 of Schlitz.

I always figured it was a combination of the tribal solidarity with someone who looks like they do, and all the free stuff the Democrats shower on their favored constituency. Think Obamaphones, from Obama's stash. I wonder if that tribal solidarity will survive when he clearly works against their most important interests to the benefit of another "tribe," the hispanics.
DeleteSince a large portion of Americans of African heritage don't have jobs anyhow, they probably welcome the immigrants who will take jobs, thereby increasing the tax income which then gets distributed to those who don't have jobs (i.e. back to the Americans of African heritage).
DeleteThe tax income to the government will probably go down, as the attraction of illegal labor is that the pay is low and the benefits nonexistent, although the workers still come to the job on time and put in a full day of toil.
DeleteLow pay equals no to low tax revenue. Maybe the government makes it up by higher taxes on larger corporate profits, although those in the US are about the highest in the developed world right now.
I'm not sure they give it that much thought, they just know that jobs mean paying taxes, No job means being paid by taxes. Therefore, more folks having jobs means mo' money!

You are very probably correct in that observation. Which is too bad, because by the time the light goes on and they realize they've been double crossed, it will be too late.

Blacks move in, whites leave.
Hispanics move in, Blacks leave (and form another ghetto)
Asians move in, Hispanics leave and push the Blacks out of the new ghetto.
Whites keep ahead of the urban sprawl by moving farther and farther out of the city, and build things (even though the president doesn't think that they built that)
She "jokes" about giving HER permission? That says volumes about her mindset.
