9mm or 45 acp?

  1. The US Colorado Class Battleships were the first to have 16" rifles and they went into service at the very end of WW1. The Washington Naval Treaty limited battleship armament to 16" projectiles. Nations went along with that but they continually fudged with the tonnage of the Treaty Cruisers (limited to 8" rifles and 10,000 tons).

  2. The shell "style" is British. I'd guess a 14 or 15 inch gun about 1915-1930ish. (The Britts changed the driving bands sometime in the 30's but kept all the old ammo -- waste not---)
