Santa Nella, California


Aka: The Westside


Back in my youth, I worked summers hauling tomatoes in this country.  Looks exactly the same now as then.  The youngest daughter took these while the oldest taped up the car.

    1. Yep, all over. They want you to think of the invaders as just folk like us trying to better themselves. I figure the "Dreamers" are self identifying now, and if we get a tough administration in power two years from now, they can be the first to be deported. I heard that Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexicans in 1954 to make room in the job market for returning GI's. Why we can't do that now with the high unemployment escapes me.

  4. Great pic, I too worked the Salinas Valley in my yute picking strawberries and lettuce w/ legal migrant workers in the early 60's. I miss the area big time but.....moon beam has ruined it.
