L'affair Zimmerman and it's consequences

Protein Wisdom says it about as well as I have heard it so far:

"Not only are those high in our federal government now all but advancing the case for political show trials and metaphorical public lynchings — and that’s what we’re seeing from this DOJ and many on the race-baiting left, an utter disregard for our criminal justice system that culminates in “symbolic” verdicts and “teachable moments,” regardless of what individual is sacrificed in the process — but we’re turning them into interactive game shows of a sort, soliciting the public’s help in joining their cynical, braying cabal. As with much else, the New Left Administration and its complicit appendages, from the bureaucrats to the media, are trying to deconstruct our justice system, turning manufactured mob outrage and “consensus”-driven political agreement into “fact” and “Truth.”

Meanwhile, criminal abusers of power on the ostensible right, like Angela Corey, go right along with them. If they are able to do so, there no longer exists a stable rule of law. And once that happens, well…I weep for what’s to come.

Really, the significance of the "affair Zimmerman" is exactly this - the drive to get the result politically desired by those currently in power, damn the consequences to the justice system and the society in general.

Now, if what happened to Zimmerman were to happen to you, why call the police?  You'd only be slandered in the press, and legally lynched by a corrupt system, if the actual 'hood didn't catch up with you first and actually pop your head off for you.

Better to apply the SSS rule: Shoot, shovel and shut up.

The need to have at least the impression of a stable rule of law has been heavily damaged by this administration's actions in this case.  How much more damage it's reputation can suffer with the productive people in this country and still function remains to be seen.

    1. Probably every email, text, phone call, twitter post and random thought. Obama's history would suggest that there is no limit to what he and his administration will do to dig up and shamelessly use against his political enemies.
