Lou sent me this story of a 177 ounce gold nugget recently dug up in Ballarat Australia.   Apparently a guy relatively new to metal detecting found this, and it's worth about 300,000 dollars.   Talk about a great find, but sadly the nuggets are only going to get smaller from here out.  However, the big fish are indeed still out there, as this story proves.
