Childhood images. When I was 10, in 1958 a good friend of my dad's was an Air Force officer in charge of B-52 pilot quals at Travis. One afternoon he took my dad and I to the field and he let me sit in the cockpit of the then brand new F-104 Starfighter. Unreal. The trailing edges of the wings were so sharp they were covered with wood to protect the ground crew. Great memories.
