Further evidence that the tide might be turning towards sanity. Actor Matt Damon states publically that he would kiss George Bush, "three seconds, no tongue," for that president's very effective work against AIDS in Africa.
Maybe he is noticing the fact that if a man like Bush believes in right and wrong, he might be willing to do something that is right, regardless of whether is will get him any votes or good press. That is what a sense of morality does for you, Matt.
I sense a movement on Matt's part away from liberalism/progressivism, and towards an ideology that actually cares about and respects people, and works selflessly for their welfare. If he finds out how hard Republicans have worked ever since the Civil War for the rights of African Americans, and in this example Africans themselves, he might just be amazed.
Hey Matt, did you know that Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican? And that Jackie Robinson was too? And Frederick Douglass? And Harriet Tubman? And Sojourner Truth?
